Attack of the Killer Hops

Beer #2468 is an indian pale ale brewed by Mountain Goat in Richmond, Victoria, Australia.

I haven’t had a beer from Mountain Goat for well over a year, not because I have been ignoring their brews but because I simply haven’t seen any. I live in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia, and tend to get my beers from Belair Fine Wines in the Adelaide Hills, Booze Bros at Unley and, randomly, at Goodwood Cellars at Goodwood and Parade Cellars at Norwood. Just as randomly I go to Dan Murphy and that’s where I went today and got eight new beers, and this was one of them. It’s certainly one of the best IPAs I’ve had for a while, with a thick bitter mouthfeel and tonnes of hops giving it a very tropical taste with grapefruit and pineapple. It’s sweetly malty but this is complemented well by the bitterness and the 7.7% is successfully concealed.

The bottle size is 640ML with an alcohol content of 7.70% (containing approximately 3.90 AU / 4.90 UK standard drinks), and it costs $11.90.

My Rating is 7.00/10 which means it’s an excellent beer and well worth hunting down.
