Chocolate Coffee Stout Special Batch

Beer #2171 is a coffee stout brewed by Barossa Valley Brewing in Barossa, S.A., Australia.

I’m not a fan of coffee stouts but this is a smooth and creamy example of the style, sweet like a milk stout (it must be loaded with lactose) with the coffee ever present but never dominating. There’s a little roasty bitterness in the background. The chocolate is subtle but adds to the overall taste. It’s maybe a little on the thin side for a stout but who cares. At least they got the balance of coffee and beer right with this one.

The bottle size is 330ML with an alcohol content of 7.00% (containing approximately 1.80 AU / 2.30 UK standard drinks), and it cost me $5.99.

My Rating is 6.00/10 which means it’s a good solid beer and it comes recommended.

Brewer Notes:
This seductive stout will make even the most hardy of warrior weak at the knees. Flavoured with Peruvian cocoa nibs and Barossa roasted coffee, this heavyweight will beat you into a smooth, sexy, submission? no matter how frigid your tastebuds.
