Firkin Fox

Beer #1541 is an amber ale brewed by Badger in Dorset, England.

A reasonably enjoyable citrus-hopped ale and a big improvement on last night’s First Call, also from Badger. It’s a sweet and malty ale, citrusy with some caramel and a small amount of bitterness.

The bottle size is 500ML with an alcohol content of 4.60% (containing approximately 1.80 AU / 2.30 UK standard drinks), and it cost me $8.50.

My Rating is 5.75/10 which means it’s lacking something to make it a genuinely good beer, although it’s drinkable enough.

Brewer Notes:
Inspired by the cunning countryside fox, this moreish auburn ale combines the biscuity and aromatic qualities of our speciality malts with the citrus hop charge of Celeia and Cascade hops. A refreshing beer ideal with spicy Mexican dishes. We’ve been brewing in the heart of Dorset since 1777.
