Ovila Belgian-Style Abbey Brown Ale Brewed With Mandarins And Cocoa

Beer #2069 is a brown ale brewed by Sierra Nevada in Chico, California, America.

A smooth creamy porter-like brown ale, tasting of chocolate with a more subtle orange flavour, a hint of caramel, a slight nuttiness and a soft lingering bitterness that builds throughout. At first I thought it was a little on the watery side but I think it’s more a case of the taste being a bit on the thin side (there’s a big difference there, to me anyway) and there’s more than enough going on here to forgive that minor thinness.

The bottle size is 750ML with an alcohol content of 7.00% (containing approximately 4.10 AU / 5.20 UK standard drinks), and it cost me $20.00.

My Rating is 7.00/10 which means it’s an excellent beer and well worth hunting down.
