Pour’n Twenty Meat Pie Beer

Beer #3331 is a brown ale brewed by Bacchus Brewing in Queensland, Australia.

This actually sounded a tad gross – ‘a Brown Ale with a lovely ruby hue made with beef/beef bone stock, tomatoes, Salt & pepper’ – but it’s Bacchus and I gave them the benefit of the doubt having not had a shit beer from them thus far. What I thought would be a novelty beer actually tastes like a damn good beer should, rich and malty, but it also has a rich savoury character to it courtesy of the salt and pepper. The tomato isn’t that prominent at all but it’s there and noticeable, just subdued although it does contribute to the overall taste. There’s a meatiness to it too but the brown ale still manages to shine through. Excellent. I’d love to see an imperial version of this one!

The bottle size is 500ML with an alcohol content of 5.00% (containing approximately 2.00 AU / 2.50 UK standard drinks), and it costs $13.00.

My Rating is 7.00/10 which means it’s an excellent beer and well worth hunting down.
