Bishop’s Best

Beer #868 is a lager brewed by Matso’s Broome in Broome, W.A., Australia.

Formerly known as Smokey Bishop (which I’ve had before), Bishop’s Best is an ok dark lager, fairly malty with decent chocolate notes. I didn’t get much in the way of coffee. Not bad.

The bottle size is 330ML with an alcohol content of 4.70% (containing approximately 1.20 AU / 1.60 UK standard drinks), .

My Rating is 5.75/10 which means it’s lacking something to make it a genuinely good beer, although it’s drinkable enough.

Brewer Notes:
The ‘Smokey Bishop’ is a regal beer, resounding with dense and lush chocolate and coffee notes. As indicated, this beer is based on the dark lagers of Munich, Germany and is, as far as the brewers are concerned, a rewarding and hedonistic beer.
