The Bollocks

Beer #1438 is an imperial indian pale ale brewed by Brash in Ipswich, Massachusetts, America.

According to the label this is an imperial Indian pale ale but that’s Bollocks, it’s much more like a barley wine than anything else. Low in carbonation and high in alcohol (at a whopping 12%), it has a very sweet honey caramel backbone with a mild grapefruit twang and a reasonable level of bitterness. It’s obviously going to be winey as there aren’t any particularly strong flavours to mask it. I quite like it, but I won’t have it again.

The bottle size is 650ML with an alcohol content of 12.00% (containing approximately 6.20 AU / 7.80 UK standard drinks), and it cost me $17.99.

My Rating is 5.75/10 which means it’s lacking something to make it a genuinely good beer, although it’s drinkable enough.
